Electrical overhaul: Distribution board and rewiring
In the Food Manufacturing industry, having up to date electrical equipment and circuiting is critical for full performance operations. Challenges
We tendered a project for an electrical company that involved the complete rewiring of their building and to supply service wiring - inclusive of all containment. This was an important job for FESS as the process we had to undertake ensured that the client’s brand integrity was maintained within the UK. To ensure the client could keep running at full capacity, we had to rewire their electricals with minimal disruption to the workers as possible; a significant challenge for such a large project.
Solutions
Like all electrical jobs we conduct, we ensure we have the loading and distance from each distribution board precise. We use a software called TRIMBLE (which houses an array of software packages used on a daily basis). This allows all cable calculation to be accurate and allows for variables like Power and Group factors. The distribution board and containment was designed to suit; the works went off without a glitch and the client was live on time.
